Focus Areas
Through member engagement, coalition coordination and convening, advocacy and meeting community needs, HWCLI and its members address issues impacting Long Island’s most at-risk and vulnerable communities. HWCLI works in some traditional anti-poverty focus areas- such as nutritional security and economic stability. And HWCLI will take on a new focus area when an agency, board or staff member identifies a need or issue to be addressed. While there is no one formula for taking on new focus areas- HWCLI strikes a balance between leading and representing its membership.
