On February 2nd, 2023, we hosted Attorney General Letitia James at our first quarterly meeting for 2023, The State of Social Justice. Nearly 200 nonprofit executives gathered for a powerful discussion on the state of social justice and the work ahead for the health and human services sector. The meeting focused on social justice issues impacting Long Island and New York State including child poverty, state mental health investments, opioid settlements, universal free school meals, protection of our seniors and many other critical issues impacting Long Islanders. Attorney General Letitia James implored the audience to remember that law is a tool for social justice and the promotion of fairness and equity. She inspired the crowd of executives to partner with her office and continue the achievable effort of transforming systems that impact the lives of those most vulnerable. We are grateful for the opportunity every day to work with leaders across the Long Island region who are outstanding partners in pursuing equity, opportunity and the ability for every family and every community to live their best lives.
